Our Civic Committee - apolitical - is proposing for signature by the people in the municipalities of Lower Bresciana the following petition:

"We the undersigned wish to demonstrate to the regional authorities responsible for the evaluation and authorization, its opposition to the project intending to be an integrated storage, recovery and treatment of land by reclamation brought by Teresa Srl (ref. EIA regional REG 547 RL) in the territory of San Gervasio Bresciano.

also intend to request that the Provincial Waste Management Plan is approved by the Lombardy Region in the formulation passed by the Provincial Council of Brescia in January 2009. "

The first day we organized to collect signatures Saturday, October 31 2009 at the "Verola Center in Verolanuova saw 540 people signed it.

This was followed by two dates in Verolavecchia (160) and Alfianello (220).

This is an initiative that requires a strong organizational commitment, justified environmental risk from the plant and we oppose the "qualitative leap" that the Administration Provinciale di Brescia sta tentando di compiere con il Piano Provinciale di Gestione dei Rifiuti approvato quasi all’unanimità dal Consiglio Provinciale a gennaio di quest’anno.

Tale piano non è stato approvato dalla Regione Lombardia, secondo recenti notizie di stampa, proprio per le maggiori tutele che attribuiva a zone agricole come Franciacorta e Bassa Bresciana.
