Cuneo is, these days - I would say unusual - in the spotlight thanks to the song and the video of Paola Cortellesi and Claudio Bisio parody of the song "Empire State of Mind" by Jay- Z and Alicia Keys. I think the authors of the Italian text (which is precisely the direction the American pop song) needed a joint of syllables that would bind well to the melody, and someone has thought of Cuneo. It is very likely what happened. The result, however, is a song that mocks the American version, but at the same time, it really speaks of Cuneo.

As the song says, it's for real Cuneo una città col sole di fronte , perché gode di un ottimo irraggiamento solare che, negli ultimi tempi, l'ha resa la seconda provincia del Piemonte - dopo Torino - per numero di installazioni di impianti fotovoltaici.
Nel solo 2010, le installazioni sono aumentate del 164% rispetto al 2009. Inoltre, la provincia di Cuneo detiene il record della Regione Piemonte per potenza installata. Alcuni dati: nel 2010 sono stati  installati 1.981 nuovi impianti collegati alla rete di distribuzione Enel, mentre la potenza installata è pari a 176 megawatt, il 39% dell'elettricità da fonti rinnovabili in Piemonte.

The view is not entirely Idyllic, family friendly: it is feared that the boom in plants is equivalent to sacrifice for fertile land, until recently, to cultures of honor. The fighting is intense institutional: in the province, there are many concerns expressed about the spread of photovoltaic .
Also, especially in the case of farms, we try to encourage the production of green energy as a supplement income, and not as a distortion of agriculture. I think it's a good thing, compared to photovoltaics, live together and compare multiple instances even opposite, given that attention to this issue is essential to avoid distortions - such as those mentioned above - and the damage that could be the lack of a project a coherent and long-term planning with regard to renewable energy sources!
